This is the most celebrated festival of the Church. Bishops Mor Sabore and Mor Afroth came from Antioch on 8th Century. They laid some important steps to extend the Christianity in the common people. This church is stood in the name of those bishops. The Akapparabu parish and nearby areas celebrates the memories of these Bishops with divinely and colorfully. This festival starts with flag hosting by the vicar of the church in association of the Holy Mass on 30th of November. From that moment the church is fully equipped with various functions containing Prayers, Holy Mass, Common Meeting, Charitable contributions, Anniversary of the Spiritual organizations, rewards for various prospects etc.. In connection with the celebration there is a punctual and beautiful ‘Pradashinam’ around the church. This festival celebrated with divinely ‘Thamukku’ for all the believers attended on the main day of the festival (Dec 2) in addition to this church arranging love feast for participants of the festival. Both these are arranged by the church and contributions from the people. History says ‘thamukkunercha’ is being done from the 8th century itself. Contributions from various individuals or Organisations are taken collectively to this wonderful Festival.

The parish celebrated their ‘Sleeba Perunnal’ on September 13. Christianity celebrated this festival on 14th of the September. Behind the change of the date is due to the celebration arrangement made in the years before by facilitating the nearing churches to celebrate the same on September 14. This is also known as ‘Mandaperunal’, because their distributing a tasty and special food called ‘Manda’. In recent time nearby churches are also celebrating this with divinely.
July 2
The parish celebrated their memory of the laying stone on July 2. Every parish celebrates their ‘Kallittaperunal’. It is followed by the St. Thomas Day on July 3. |
